This year hasn’t gone to plan. But I figured I can at at least keep you all updated on what I’m reading. In the past I would create a simple list of what I was reading and what I was going to read. Let me just update you on what I’m reading at the moment. I have no plans on what to read next. I keep saying I’ll read something or the other but then when I’m done with a book I go on to something that wasn’t on my list.
The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman
I picked this one up because I saw it pop up a few times and decided to read the synopsis. It’s not my normal kind of book to read. It’s basically about an Australian ex-serviceman named Tom, who fought in WWI, who becomes a lighthouse keeper. He meets a girl who throws him off his game and makes him consider marriage. They eventually marry but they have bad luck having children. His wife, Isabel, finds a baby and a dead man washed up on shore, and convinces Tom to keep the baby. Out of desperation to see his wife happy, he agrees.
The Old World by Roy M. Griffis
For this one, I asked to read this one by the author via my Review Request Form. I chose it because of its link to WWI. For some reason I don’t like stories of modern war and conflict but I do enjoy these stories about older wars. I think it’s because of its link to history and because of the kind of hope it gives, that this too shall pass. This one is about a Lieutenant and a nurse who meet and become friends during the war.
Paper Towns by John Green
This one right here… I picked this one from last year to read in my books to movies 2015 challenge. I never got a chance to finish the challenge but I did already buy most of the books. This one here I got in audiobook format so I’m listening while I’m doing other things. It’s about a guy name Quentin who’s in love with his neighbour Margo, but he never tells her. They used to be friends when they were younger but now they only see each other at school. He and Margo will go on an adventure and then Margo will go missing [I guess] and he will have to follow clues to find her.
So that’s it for right now. Chao.
