Who is Ethan Cage?

Is he just a troubled 17-year-old high school student? A quiet, intelligent kid with a bad home life? Or is he a shattered human being, a boy who lost his faith in the world when he discovered that his loving father was secretly a psychotic serial killer?

As Ethan’s world suddenly spirals out of control, he must confront the reality of his dark past and finally make the decision that will either define his life – or cut it short prematurely.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The author has never asked me or tried to influence me for a positive review, nor have I promised one.

My Impressions:

Quick paced and easy to follow.

Ethan Cage, Carter Cage, Evita Cage, Mary Cage,Whithney, Anthony and Chris

Ethan Cage’s life was perfect up until the age of 10 years. He had a doting father, a beautiful mother and an adorable little sister.  Then suddenly at the age of ten he goes from being an adoring son to an outcast.  His father is arrested and sent to jail on several charges of murder, his mother is a drug addict who is afraid of him and abusive to his little sister. The young boy did not see this coming and his family is shattered by the repercussions of it all. Moving to a new town Ethan, his mother and baby sister Mary tries to move on with their lives. That is easier said then done as Ethan is defined by what his father has done.

As a young boy Ethan has always felt somewhat ‘different’ from other people, and with justification. At 17 Ethan is begins to mature, trying to figure out who he is as a sexual being while dealing with a slightly shattered personality after growing up in the shadow of a psychotic serial killer father, he finds himself not only battling with the normal issues that any pubescent teen encounters. but also a dark aspect to his personality that threatens his sanity.   Thankfully he is surrounded by two good friends Anthony and Chris and Whitney, a girl who loves him dearly although she seems to have trouble of her own, she stands beside him and is there for him through it all.

Just as he begins to develop a promising relationship life deals him another blow his father escapes from prison and the killing starts all over again. This time tho its different as clues to the murders are being sent to Ethan by his father in a cryptic code they use to use when he was a small boy. Arriving at the spot where the first letter leads him to he discovers he is too late to save this victim. The letters keep coming. Will he be able to save the next person?

About the Author:

He one known as Nicholas Conley is a uniquely alien creature with mysterious literary ambitions, a passion for fiction and a whole slew of terrific stories he’d like to share with others.

Nicholas is the author of THE CAGE LEGACY, a 2012 psychological thriller that explores such contemporary issues as adolescent rage, the nature of violence and the search for identity in today’s world. When not busy writing, Nicholas is an obsessive reader, a truth seeker, a sarcastic idealist, a traveler — and like many writers, a coffee addict. Originally from California, Nicholas has currently made his home in the colder temperatures of New Hampshire.
