Wow, it’s November already! Where did 2014 go?

This year was a good reading year for me. 2011 and 2012 were much better though. In May 2011, my husband, then fiancé, got me my first kindle. Before that I had always loved reading but buying books here is so expensive, even when you order your own. A book you’d pay around $8.00 USD for would cost like $30.00 BZD if your order it on your own. Don’t ask how much it could be if you bought it from certain stores. Granted, buying the kindle version would still be about $16.00 BZD but it’s much more affordable. I have to be thrifty about buying books now that I read much more often. This year so far, I have read 25 books (of my 24 book challenge on Goodreads) and I have several others on my currently reading and to-read lists for this year left. In 2011 and 2012 I read all the Sookie Stackhouse books up to then, all the Song of Ice and Fire except a Dance with Dragons, several Anne Rice, and other books caught in between. Then I got a Kindle Fire HD around December 2012 and my son sat on my Kindle e-reader and broke the screen. [Side note: I CANNOT READ ON THE KINDLE FIRE. I don’t know how people who read at lot can read on their tablets. It’s excruciating. It kills my eyes even when set on the sepia background colour.] Since I couldn’t read on the tablet well, I only read a few books that year. I eventually sold it, and then I last Christmas I got a Kindle Paperwhite 2nd Gen. Now I’m reading a lot again.

Here’s what’s on the list for November:

The Shining by Stephen King
Doctor Sleep by Stephen King
I’m still on the Paper Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg
Seven Beyond by Stella Atrium

Rain Girl by Gabi Kreslehner [Update: Removed from reading list]
The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower Series Book #1) by Stephen King
The Drawing of Three (The Dark Tower Series Book #2) by Stephen King [Update: Added to Reading List]

Looks like we are on the Stephen King bandwagon now. Still can’t believe it took me some time to get to a Stephen King book.
