Series: Giovanni goes to Med School #2
Also in this series: Giovanni goes to Med School

Having successfully dealt with his first zombie, Giovanni is looking forward to the upcoming semester. Then the accidents start, costing Giovanni two jobs, no end of embarrassment, and multiple contusions and abrasions!
Is it just bad luck or is the curse of the zombie out to get him? And which of the voodoo queens suddenly surrounding him can he trust to help out?
I read part one of this short story series but didn’t really enjoy it. I guess over time I had forgotten how annoying the main character is because when the author asked if I’d like to read book two, I agreed. I was tempted to give up because the story is a bit slow considering that it’s a 90 page short story. At about 30% in Giovanni still hadn’t met a coven. I mean by this time it was recently hinted that something was amiss with Astral but that was nothing new since they mentioned it in book 1.
Another thing that got to me was the fact that breath was used multiple times [where the author meant to use breathe].
Now that I got my complaints out of the way. I’m glad I decided to read this one. It feels like a sort of redemption for book one. Although Giovanni is still annoying and for a doctor-in-training, kind of dim-witted. This time though we meet more characters who take away from of the spotlight from him and so there’s less time to read about just him.
Once you discover the true ploy of the story, it moves pretty quickly and grabs you in. The plot twist is also pretty unexpected.
